The Ford Mustang has typically trailed behind the Chevy Camaro performance-wise for many generations in my opinion, but within the last generation, I would safely say Ford came out swinging with this Mustang chassis-built to reign supreme over all others. The Shelby Super Snake is similar to Rocky Balboa. At first glance, It may look like the underdog, but lately, Ford has found a winning formula and has risen to the top to secure the win against its adversaries yet again.
With the 2021 Shelby Super Snake being announced Ford wanted to celebrate what would be Carroll Shelby’s 98th birthday by releasing only 98 Super Snakes. This year is different because Ford is going to let you drop the top in style and also release 98 Super Snake Speedsters (only 25 will be offered in the United States) and they look absolutely breathtaking.
The Super Snake Speedster comes with the already proven 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine that’s equipped with a polished Whipple supercharger. With this bolt-on supercharger, it takes power levels to 825 horsepower and can get from 0- 60 in as little as 3.5 seconds. Not only did Ford increase horsepower they have also have given its customers the option of having a six-speed manual or the efficient 10-speed automatic transmission to help put all that horsepower to the ground unlike GM did with their C8 Chevy Corvette.
The Super Snake speedster also comes with some custom goodies including a Forged 20-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, Borla Exhaust system, its own unique gauge cluster, floor mats, custom seal trim, painted racing stripes, widebody, Penske track suspension system, and a rear-seat delete with a harness bar. The Ford Super Snake Speedster can be had in two different ways. Either you’re one of the lucky ones and can purchase one of the 98 production Speedsters that start at $138,780 or you can buy a standard Super Snake that starts at $133,785 and add an additional $4,995 for the speedster package. What are your thoughts on the Super Snake Speedster? Are you adding it to your list of cars that you would love to own?
